How Does It Work?
Acupuncture is the process of inserting thin needles into the body, to directly stimulate certain nerve endings. By stimulating the nerve cells, a message is transmitted to the central nervous system. The brain then responds by releasing chemicals the body needs. It is a means for the body to heal itself. From an Eastern view, it is qi (chee) flowing through the meridians of the body. Sometimes this qi or energy becomes stagnate, excess or deficient. Sometimes toxins (heat, cold) enter the body. Acupuncture helps move the qi, release the toxins and keeps the flow smooth and stable.
